LABORATORY FILTERPRESS
with Special Execution
In addition to the standard versions that you can find at this link, Autemi’s LAB200 series filter presses can be manufactured with a special design to perform particular functions.
When chemically aggressive fluids have to be treated, it is possible to realize the pilot filter press totally in Stainless Steel (AISI 304 or AISI 316).
When the fluids to be treated are incompatible with stainless steel, the wetted parts can be made of PTFE or PVC.

COMPLETE STAINLESS STEEL FILTERPRESS - AISI 304

For example, in this application, the filter press is made entirely of AISI 304 Stainless Steel, the wetted parts are covered with PTFE and the filtered inlet and outlet valves are made of PVC.
The filter plate pack can be made of either classic polypropylene or stainless steel (AISI 304 or AISI 316).
In this way, depending on the fluid to be filtered, I can choose whether to use polypropylene or stainless steel filter packs.

WITH PTFE OR PVC VALVES
COMPLETE STAINLESS STEEL FILTERPRESS - AISI 316

In this application, customer had to dewater a sludge with a max temperature of 50°C containing Nitric Acid, Fosforic Acid and other aggressive components. Also the Polypropylene could have resistance problem with this slurry.
The whole filterpress including the plates and frames, the wetted parts of the feeding pump, the sludge tank and the general basement are completely in Stainless Steel AISI 316.
With this unit we offer to customer a very high possibility of customization concerning number of plates and frames, pump flow rate and also kind of features which is possible to install in the filterpress.
This is not a simple filterpress, but is a complete pilot plant for sludge dewatering for micro-production or for R&D department

WITH FEEDING PUMP AND SLUDGE TANK
However, there are other types of applications where it is necessary to filter the product at high temperatures (up to 150°C).
In this case it is possible to make pilot filter presses capable of withstanding such temperatures (especially for piping).
HIGH TEMPERATURE APPLICATIONS

In these applications it is possible, for example, to build tanks with the presence of a thermoresistance which has the task of heating the product.
In order to keep the product at the required temperature, the tanks are insulated internally with rock wool.
In addition, there are applications in which it is necessary to carry out not a real filtration but a polishing process using filtration aids such as diatomaceous earth.
It is possible to install several tanks with appropriate exclusion and recirculation valves to test exactly this type of process.
For example, in the pictures below there are 3 separate tanks (a tank containing the product to be filtered, a tank for preparing the precoat and a tank for discharging the filtered product).
The operator will perform manually what normally in polishing plants can be done automatically or by turbidity analysis or simply by measuring the process time.

By means of the appropriate process valves, it is possible to recirculate the filtrate inside the pre-coating tank until the precoat has been correctly formed inside the filtering chambers; subsequently, the flow can be deviated and the filtrate discharged into the appropriate collection tank.
From the electrical panel it is possible to switch on or off the appropriate heating elements to carry out the process at room temperature or at heated temperature.
